The Kuala Lumpur skyline came alive over the weekend as thousands of fans gathered at Raintree Plaza, The Exchange TRX, to witness the Spider-Man: Brand New Day Light Show, presented by Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia.

Held over two nights on 24 and 25 July, the event lit up the sky with 600 synchronized drones, paired with fireworks effects that turned the night into a full-on cinematic celebration ahead of the movie’s release. The performance featured iconic Spider-Man-inspired aerial formations and synchronized drone choreography — a fitting tribute to the world’s most beloved friendly neighbourhood hero.

Beyond the drone show, fans also got to explore a specially curated New York street-themed on-ground activation, inspired by Spider-Man’s iconic neighbourhood, complete with themed installations and photo opportunities for visitors to step into his world before the main show.

“We wanted to give Malaysian fans a celebration worthy of Spider-Man. From the New York-inspired activation to the groundbreaking drone and fireworks show, it was our way of celebrating Spider-Man: Brand New Day with fans in an unforgettable way,” said Catherine Chai, Marketing Director, Sony Pictures Entertainment Malaysia.

Catch it in cinemas soon

Spider-Man: Brand New Day officially premieres in cinemas nationwide on Thursday, 30 July 2026, with advance ticket bookings already open at all major cinemas.

It’s a brand new day for Peter Parker — fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him, while watching his old friends move on without him. That shift sparks a change in Peter he may not fully control, but it might also be exactly what’s needed to stop a new, unseen threat to the city and the people he loves.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, and Mark Ruffalo.
