Penang foodies, get ready — global favourite Burger & Lobster is soft-launching its third Malaysian outlet tomorrow, 25 July, and this time it’s landing right in the heart of George Town.

According to their official announcement, the Penang outlet will be open daily from 4PM to 10PM during the soft opening, with both walk-ins and reservations welcome. As with most soft launches, expect a limited menu and slightly slower service as the team settles in.

The new restaurant is located at No. 59, Lebuh Kimberly, 10100 George Town, Penang.

A bit of background

Burger & Lobster started in London in 2011, when four schoolmates came up with the idea of building a restaurant around just two things — prime beef burgers and fresh, sustainably-sourced Atlantic lobster. The concept centred on keeping things simple and focusing on those two dishes, rather than a sprawling menu.

The brand made its way to Malaysia in 2017, opening its first Southeast Asian outlet at SkyAvenue, Resorts World Genting. Its second Malaysian outlet followed years later at Suria KLCC, which opened on 1 October 2022. Penang now becomes the brand’s third outlet in the country.

What’s on the menu

As the name suggests, the menu centres on lobster rolls and prime cut burgers. Their menu is built around “The Originals” — the three dishes that started it all back in 2011: the Mayfair Burger (RM69), the Classic Whole Lobster (RM229, steamed or grilled with fries, salad and lemon garlic butter sauce), and the Classic Lobster Roll (RM139, chilled lobster meat with lemon mayo in a toasted brioche roll). Beyond these, the fuller menu also includes combos pairing lobster and burger together, alongside a cocktail and drinks list. As mentioned, the Penang outlet will start off with a limited menu during the soft opening, with the full menu expected to follow later.
