The Axia, long known as Malaysia’s most affordable compact car, now starts from just RM33,900 in Peninsular Malaysia for the entry-level 1.0G variant — down from RM38,600. Here’s the full breakdown:

Peninsular Malaysia:

1.0G — RM33,900 (down RM4,700 from RM38,600)

1.0X — RM38,500 (down RM1,500 from RM40,000)

1.0SE — RM43,000 (down RM1,000 from RM44,000)

1.0AV — RM49,000 (down RM500 from RM49,500)

East Malaysia:

1.0G — RM35,900 (down RM4,700 from RM40,600)

1.0X — RM40,500 (down RM1,500 from RM42,000)

1.0SE — RM45,000 (down RM1,000 from RM46,000)

1.0AV — RM51,000 (down RM500 from RM51,500)

Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the price revision is the result of improvements in operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives undertaken in close collaboration with local suppliers and partners — with all savings passed directly to customers.

“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians,” he said, adding that all specifications and quality standards for the Axia remain unchanged.

While discounts are always welcomed, it is interesting to note that in this case it is the entry-level 1.0G that benefits the most from the price revision — which is a little different from the norm where higher spec variants tend to get the bigger savings from operational efficiencies. Nevertheless, Perodua has their reasons and we’ll take the savings!

What this does do is make the entry-level Axia a significantly more compelling buy. Previously priced at around the same level as an entry-level Proton Saga, the revised price of RM33,900 now makes it a noticeably cheaper consideration — and at RM4,700 less, it could help sway more buyers towards Perodua showrooms and keep their market share strong.
