<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Great news for Malaysians looking for an affordable set of wheels — Perodua has just announced a price reduction on its Axia model, effective immediately, with savings of up to RM4,700 depending on the variant.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Axia, long known as Malaysia’s most affordable compact car, now starts from just RM33,900 in Peninsular Malaysia for the entry-level 1.0G variant — down from RM38,600. Here’s the full breakdown:</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Peninsular Malaysia:</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0G — RM33,900 (down RM4,700 from RM38,600)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0X — RM38,500 (down RM1,500 from RM40,000)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0SE — RM43,000 (down RM1,000 from RM44,000)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0AV — RM49,000 (down RM500 from RM49,500)</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">East Malaysia:</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0G — RM35,900 (down RM4,700 from RM40,600)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0X — RM40,500 (down RM1,500 from RM42,000)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0SE — RM45,000 (down RM1,000 from RM46,000)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><img src="https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/17.0.2/72x72/1f697.png" alt="🚗" class="wp-smiley" style="height: 1em; max-height: 1em;" /> 1.0AV — RM51,000 (down RM500 from RM51,500)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><em>Prices exclude insurance.</em></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Perodua president and CEO Datuk Seri Zainal Abidin Ahmad said the price revision is the result of improvements in operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives undertaken in close collaboration with local suppliers and partners — with all savings passed directly to customers.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">“This price revision forms part of our ongoing efforts to ease the cost pressures currently faced by Malaysians,” he said, adding that all specifications and quality standards for the Axia remain unchanged.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"></h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">While discounts are always welcomed, it is interesting to note that in this case it is the entry-level 1.0G that benefits the most from the price revision — which is a little different from the norm where higher spec variants tend to get the bigger savings from operational efficiencies. Nevertheless, Perodua has their reasons and we’ll take the savings! </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">What this does do is make the entry-level Axia a significantly more compelling buy. Previously priced at around the same level as an entry-level Proton Saga, the revised price of RM33,900 now makes it a noticeably cheaper consideration — and at RM4,700 less, it could help sway more buyers towards Perodua showrooms and keep their market share strong. </p>
