TQ Wuling slashes up to RM6,000 off the Bingo EV for September

Shopping for an EV under RM60k? Proton’s e.MAS 5 isn’t the only option anymore.

In conjunction with Malaysia Day, TQ Wuling Malaysia has rolled out its “Drive into September” campaign for the Bingo EV, bringing the entry price down to RM56,800. That puts it right in the same sub-RM60k space as Proton’s e.MAS 5.

So how much ah?

The Bingo Pro normally goes for RM62,800. With a RM4,000 Malaysia Day cash rebate and an insurance rebate of up to RM2,000, it drops to RM56,800.

The higher-spec Bingo Max is now RM63,800, after a RM2,000 rebate plus the same insurance rebate of up to RM2,000.

That’s up to RM6,000 in savings. Enough for a lot of teh tarik.

Free charger somemore

Every Bingo buyer gets a free portable EV charger. Max buyers get an extra 7kW wallbox charger for home too, so no need to fight for the charging bay at the mall.

Can go far or not?

Quite far, actually. The Bingo runs on a 68 PS electric motor with up to 410 km of range on the Max and 333 km on the Pro. That’s plenty for your daily KL-PJ grind, with some left over for a weekend makan trip.

When it’s time to top up, 50 kW DC fast charging takes it from 30% to 80% in under 35 minutes. Just enough time for a coffee and some scrolling.

For comparison, the e.MAS 5 is rated at 225 km for the Prime and 325 km for the Premium, so the Bingo goes further on a full charge.

Small car, big boot

Don’t let the cute retro look fool you. The boot fits 395 litres, and up to 1,240 litres with the rear seats folded flat. Groceries, luggage, IKEA shopping, all can.

It’s also locally assembled at Tan Chong’s plant in Segambut, KL, so it’s a proper Made-in-Malaysia ride.

Better hurry

The promo runs throughout September 2026, and the RM56,800 price applies to Peninsular Malaysia.

The e.MAS 5 is still Malaysia’s best-selling EV by a mile, but that popularity could mean a waiting list. If you’re in a hurry, the Bingo might be the quicker way into an EV. Head down to your nearest TQ Wuling showroom to check it out.

Proton opens booking for two new S70 variants — the S70 Lite and S70 Prime — with estimated pricing starting from below RM60,000, bringing the […]

Proton opens booking for two new S70 variants — the S70 Lite and S70 Prime — with estimated pricing starting from below RM60,000, bringing the popular S70 into B-segment sedan territory for the first time. Bookings are now open at all authorised Proton dealers nationwide.

With the addition of the Lite and Prime, the S70 now has 6 variants in its lineup — all launched in 2026 — making it one of the most comprehensive sedan ranges from a national carmaker in recent memory.

The turbocharged variants — priced from RM73,800 to RM94,800 — have earned the “Conti Killer” nickname for matching the performance of lower-end continental cars at a much cheaper price tag.

In the B-segment sedan space, the S70 is currently going head to head with rivals like the Honda City and Toyota Vios in an increasingly competitive price war — with each make offering heavy rebates and discounts to win buyers. The S70 is currently leading the segment in sales, proving that Proton’s value proposition is resonating with Malaysian car buyers.

Now with the Lite and Prime coming in at below RM60,000, Proton is set to widen the gap even further — moving the S70 into new territory entirely. These two new variants serve a dual purpose: acting as the natural upgrade for Proton Saga and other A-segment sedan owners looking to move up, while also stepping in as the direct replacement for the soon-to-be discontinued Proton Persona.

What We Know So Far

Final pricing and full specifications for the S70 Lite and Prime are yet to be confirmed — those details will only be revealed at the official launch, which Proton has not yet announced a date for.

What we do know is that customers who book and register either variant by December 31, 2026 will be eligible for an exclusive early bird reward — though the specifics of what that reward entails will also only be revealed at launch.

Bookings are open now at all authorised Proton dealers nationwide. If the pricing and specs live up to expectations, this could be one of the most significant Proton launches in recent years.
